Which are the Most Popular Genres of American Music?

American music dominates the world entertainment scene. There are more American artists in World top music charts at any one time, more than any other nationality. Many genres of music trace their origins to the US, for example Jazz, Hip hop, and Country music, which are uniquely American. There are tens of music genres in the American music scene. However, there are some that continuously dominate the American charts.

Pop music

This is probably the biggest American cultural export. These are songs that temporarily catch the attention of the listeners becoming wildly popular, dominating the charts for a few weeks and then fading as fast. These songs can hardly be remembered two or three years after they were hits. Some of the most popular American pop artists include:
